We are always searching for beautiful books to add to our collection of home staging and interior design inventory. Books are timeless and coffee table books, specifically, can fill space so easily and beautifully, while also adding personality to your home.

Tip #1: Find your style

Select books you’ll actually want to read

Yes, books can be pretty, but we also love how they can perpetuate your style and personality in a simple and inspiring way. It’s important to find books that you will actually like! Lifestyles are the most common topic in coffee table books for a reason! Most coffee table book authors hire graphic designers, photographers, or artists to give their book a cover that encapsulates their book’s topic so chances are if you find books that interest you, they’ll probably also embody your style. Keep reading for some recommendations for every lifestyle.

Tip #2: Considerations

Size Matters

Make sure to check out the size of your books. There is nothing more disappointing than when you go to stack your books and they are all different shapes and sizes.

Colors Add Interest

The “anchor book” (our fancy term for the book at the bottom of the stack) needs to be the largest and needs to stand out against the surface. For instance, if you have a black surface, try to avoid a black-spined anchor book. If you can’t find a contrasting anchor book, you can also create contrast by stacking your books on a tray.

Tip #3: Top It

While just a stack of books can be all you need to accessorize a space, you can also add a little more to your stack by topping it off. Some of our favorite stack toppers include:
